Cancellation/Refund Policy:

Students who withdraw from the University, cancel housing, or otherwise become ineligible for campus housing are subject to the applicable housing refund schedule outlined above. The date of completion of both cancellation form (available in the Tiger Den) and check-out date (including key return)听 will determine the applicable refund or charge.

Students Who Voluntarily Withdraw from the University

Students who voluntarily withdraw from the University are subject to the 75% / 25% / 0% housing refund schedule listed on the Bursar's Office website. Students must complete the housing checkout process (including cancellation form and key-return) within 48 hours of becoming unenrolled from the University.
Meal plan charges are separate from housing charges. Students who withdraw from the University remain responsible for meal plan charges through the applicable meal plan cancellation deadline, which is generally around the听 14th day of class. Meal plan charges will not be automatically prorated based solely on a student's withdrawal from the University after the meal plan cancellation deadline. Students Who Remain Enrolled and Cancel Housing

Students who remain enrolled at the University at the time of housing cancellation or checkout are subject to the 75% / 25% / 0% housing refund schedule listed below based on the date of cancellation.
Meal plans are not prorated for students who remain enrolled at the University and cancel housing or complete checkout after the meal plan cancellation deadline, which is generally around the 14th day of the term. Students should refer to the meal plan website for the specific cancellation deadline for the applicable term.

Students Who Lose Enrollment Through Purge or Receive an Approved Medical Withdrawal

Students who fail to maintain enrollment after the University's final bill payment deadline and are subsequently purged from their classes, or students who complete an approved medical withdrawal process, may be eligible for daily prorated housing charges rather than the standard housing refund schedule.
Eligibility for daily prorated charges will be determined based on the circumstances and effective date of the student's withdrawal or loss of enrollment. Meal plan charges may also be prorated in these circumstances, subject to review and approval by Aramark and/or Auxiliary Services (commutermealplan@tnstate.edu)

The housing withdrawal or cancellation process must be completed through the TSU Residence Life Office. Students may access the Cancellation Form through the (www.tnstate.edu/housing). For medical withdrawals, documentation from a licensed physician may be required.
The听 TSU Residence Life Office 听(ResLife@tnstate.edu) will review housing and meal plan charges based on the applicable University policies and the circumstances of the student's withdrawal or cancellation. Refunds or adjustments are not available for disciplinary removals unless otherwise provided by University policy.
